The Birth of PixVillage
Let me tell you a story...
Once upon a time, (in a galaxy far, far away...) there was a bunch of very good friends who loved to party. Their group was called Cobra (don't ask me why, it's another long story...). Every reason was good to see each other: birthdays (mono-birthday, double-birthday, even quadri-birthday! ), holidays, weddings (yes, they're old...), births (yes, they're young too...), etc. After seven years of fun, they had shot thousands of photos of all these events (most of them ridiculous...). Cool. But what to do with all these (ridiculous) photos ?
Some of them (let's call them the Pixies...) decided to find a solution. Their first idea was to create a web server with a photo upload service. Good. So they had to buy a huge hard drive... Ok, let's buy it... $$... Thanks. Now, who wants to administrate and classify all these thousands of photos?... So ?... Yeah... Obviously nobody wanted to do the job! So they had to find something else...
At first, our team of (very) smart boys thought that a software with a contact list management was a good way to avoid administration of rights, accounts, etc. Then the question was: how to store the increasing amount of gigabytes? The solution came in three letters: P2P. PixVillage was born! (Yeah... actually it was not called PixVillage at that time, but I try to simplify!).
Then PixVillage lived happy on the internet and had a lot of little downloads (we hope so!)...
PS : We have a 180 Gbytes hard drive for sale, if you're interested, send us an email... ;-)
